2021 Hemp Licensing Details

OISC anticipates a November 1, 2020, start date for 2021 Hemp Licensing. Indiana's state plan is in the hands of the USDA, and we hope to have it approved soon. Below are a couple of things that you can be doing now to be ready for the licensing period:

  • First, all licensees and key participants must have a federal fingerprint background check for the 2021 licensing to be approved. These background checks must be done within 60 days of the license application date. To start the background check process, click here.
  • Key Participants in your operation also must be background checked at the same link above. These are operation owners, or those in charge of growing the crop.

Currently the FBI website says that they are running several days behind schedule, so please start this process early.

OISC is required by statute to cover their expenses for the state hemp program. Application fees and field site change fees will be charged for the 2021 season. Application fees are $750 for either handler or grower or $1500 for both. Site change fees are $50.

Keep an eye on your inbox, OISC's website and Midwest Hemp Council's website for additional updates.
