Indiana Legislative Update: SB 20

Hoosiers, we're back with a fighting chance! SB 20 was voted out of the House Committee on Public Policy today 12-1 (the no vote had nothing to do with the hemp provisions in the bill), and will be heard again by the full House of Representatives on Thursday.  Now is the time to directly engage in the legislative process by contacting your representative and asking that they vote "Yes" on SB 20. Not sure who your representative is? Click here to find out.

We want to thank Chairman Manning and the rest of the House Committee on Public Policy for their support of Indiana's hemp industry.  SB 20 would allow our farmers and small businesses to compete in the full hemp market while increasing consumer protections for products currently on the market. Unfortunately, more and more children are getting their hands on Delta 8. Provisions of SB 20 are aimed at mitigating and preventing these types of stories by placing age restrictions and packaging standards for these products. Overall, this is a bill that will revive Indiana's hemp market by providing clarity and confidence to farmers, small businesses and consumers.
