Critical Issues About Horses & Hemp

On Thursday, June 25, at 2 p.m. EDT, join Hemp Feed Coalition on Facebook for our presentation: Critical Issues About Horses & Hemp. 

This 45-minute presentation will begin with Hunter Buffington, Executive Director of the Hemp Feed Coalition, reviewing the history of hemp and how it is used in animals. She will also discuss the lack of information & research on hemp as animal feed and what everyone can do to help combat this problem.

Bill Bookout, President & Board Chairman of the National Animal Supplement Council, will follow Hunter with regulatory updates. He will talk about the high points and low points of regulation, the FDA and CVM, and spell out the issues hemp is facing in regard to animal feed.

Lastly, Dr. Shannon Pratt Phillips, Professor of Equine Nutrition in the Department of Animal Science at North Carolina State University, will provide information about hemp nutrition before delving into how it specifically applies to horses. Finally, she will discuss the survey she is directing and how it will impact the industry.
